When my friend, Kelli, told me she and her fiance were planning an airport themed engagement session for their upcoming wedding, I thought it was a wonderfully creative and personal idea. Kelli and Brian met while working for Southwest Airlines together. Dallas based Goode Photography did an excellent job of capturing this beautiful couple and executing the theme perfectly.

Engagement Photo Shoots
In recent years, engagement photo shoots have become all the rage. Gone are the days when engaged couples dressed up in matching outfits and sat in front of a boring studio backdrop to capture a few images that were uninspiring, to say the least. Many couples now consider engagement sessions an essential aspect of their wedding experience and see it as another way to infuse creativity and personal touches into their wedding memorabilia. Take a look at some of these beautiful examples.

Essence Bridal Bliss: An Olympian & An NFL Baller
I always love browsing through the Bridal Bliss section of the Essence website where they highlight the real weddings of lovely couples from around the country. This week they highlighted the February wedding of Olympic Gold Medal sprinter, Sanya Richards, to NY Giants cornerback, Aaron Ross. Check out some of the pictures below.

Telling Your Wedding Story Through Photography
In a previous post, I mentioned the importance of hiring a professional wedding photographer to capture all the special moments of your day. Additionally as important, in my opinion, is finding one that is skilled at shooting in a photojounalistic fashion. What does this mean, you wonder? It means the photographer is skilled in capturing a combination of posed shots and candid moments and putting them together in a manner that tells a story. With this style, I liken the final product, the wedding album, to the pages of a fashion spread in Vogue or Marie Claire.
